Queensland cut in two in fight against equine flu

[this is good]

I find it very difficult to understand the logic behind the decisions taken in Queensland.

As one of the forgotten owners, the Stand Still is costing us a tremendous amount of money for no return. We had three young horses in full work, all ready for Barrier Trials; now they can't be worked; I can't bring them home for a spell so my costs for the Trainer are the same. We have about 32 horses on the property, mostly broadmares, yearlings and foals worth consertively $300000.00 but under the present stand still they are worth nothing but we still have to feed them and manage the business with no compensation or support.

AQUIS caused this problem and we are stuck with it and my firm belief is that it is just another virus that we have to manage. It is no different to Strangles or EHV, we just need to manage the situation.

Cheers
